The Social Committee continues to explore opportunities for the members of Bon Air to participate in a varied array of social functions. For 2007 we have several events planned with others being explored. See below and mark your calendars for the following upcoming events:
• Friday, February 2 – Putt-Putt
In order to have a successful event, we need participants to “adopt” a hole, start thinking about how you can make the 2007 Putt-Putt a success. A sign up sheet has been posted on the bulletin board outside the GolfShop. A poster is included in the newsletter with all of the details.
• Saturday February 24 – Irish Pub Night
Back again will be Tommy McCann with his Irish musical group. There will be a cover charge of $5 per person, which includes your 1st drink! A limited menu will be available with traditional Irish dishes or a burger or sandwiches. Food and music will be available. Reservations are a must so that you can reserve a table and we can plan the menu. Members and guests are welcome!
• Friday, March 23 – Italian Night
The ever popular Italian Night will again be held at Bon Air. See the poster in the newsletter for details.
• April (TBD) - Masters / Final Four Party
• Friday, May 4 - Cinco de Mayo minus 1 Again this year we will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo at Bon Air. This was a great party in 2006, expect special drinks, and food for the occasion. Watch for details in the Spring NewsLetter.
• June (TBD) – Wine Tasting II
Our initial Wine Tasting event in December was a phenomenal success! We sold out weeks ahead and were turning people away at the door. The proposed theme for Wine Tasting II will be “Wine for the back yard cook out”! Planning has just begun, but once reservations open be sure to make your reservation early.
To our Pool/Social Members, please remember that you are also welcome to participate in the Social Functions at Bon Air. We also welcome input and support in running a function. The Social Committee is always looking for new members to join the committee. As can be seen above we have many opportunities to expand your social life at Bon Air. However, we also need help. We are looking for 2 people to take the lead (or take ownership) of each event. This basically means, organizing, coordinating, and facilitating whatever needs to be done. You will not be working alone, others will be ready and willing to help set-up and clean-up, we just need someone to be the focal point for a specific event. The time commitment is small, but the reward of organizing a successful event is large.
